Eight data rates DAX Discrete has been designed from the outset with the unique ability to crystal lock onto 8 different digital audio input signal rates. These are: 32k, 44k1, 48k (inc. DAB), 88k2, 96k, 176k4, 192k and DSD™ for SACD™. The standard S/PDIF or AES/EBU inputs can accept data at a rate up to and including 96k. For the three highest speed rates - 176k4, 192k and DSD™ - our ASL interface will be needed. All rates are oversampled to >700kHz. Naturally, ASL can be used for all 8 rates and will give an improved performance over any other interface whenever it is used. DAX Discrete: Variable or Basic? DAX Discrete is available in two versions which share the same design principles but offer differing facilities and build specifications. DAX Discrete Variable is our higher specified model. It features remote control of all facilities. including attenuation of the analogue output level in precision 1.0dB steps. It has remote selection of four further sets of DSP filters. Inputs up to a maximum of six can be accommodated. As standard the inputs fitted are: S/PDIF, Toslink, AES and two ST optical connections - front-panel configurable either as individual inputs or one dual-ST ASL interface. Up to two dual-ST ASL inputs may be specified for the Variable model (using four ST connectors and leaving one RCA coaxial and one Toslink input remaining). DAX Discrete Basic offers a fixed analogue output level with no remote control or modular input expansion capacity (see over) and in a more compact enclosure. It may be optionally fitted with our custom universal digital interface (ASL Option). Both the Basic and the Variable versions can be specified with additional converters for fully differential XLR balanced analogue outputs (BAL Option). ![]() 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Next > © 2010 Audio Synthesis |
